Campus tours
An important part of the college exploration process involves just showing up. Two of the best ways are to attend college fairs and tour campuses--either in person or virtually.
College fairs offer a chance to gather information and ask questions of a large number of school admissions reps in one fell swoop. And beyond getting the lowdown on colleges of interest, College Fairs are an opportunity for students to meet and create a connection with those who will ultimately review their applications.
There's no better way to get a feel for a college's vibe than to tour its campus. While tours are a chance to ask questions, assess the architecture, and taste the pizza, more importantly, they're a time to check out the human beings milling around and try to project yourself existing among them.
